Critical disability studies research from iHuman was showcased at the a conference held in ‘Penser l’invalidité aujourd’hui : perspectives critiques’. This event brought together disability activists and scholars to explore emergent critical approaches to the conceptualization of disability in Switzerland and beyond. Dan Goodley, co-director of iHuman, presented a paper entitled ‘Disability as theory : reconceptualising our human relationships’ which introduced critical disability studies an emergent inter-disciplinary field. Dan spoke, amongst other things, about the scholarship and activism of researchers and postgraduate students in iHuman that seeks to foreground disability as the phenomenon through which to rethink our human relationships in a time of global economic, social and cultural uncertainty.
