Antonios is an ESRC funded PhD student at the School of Education, University of Sheffield, supervised by Dan Goodley. He holds a BEd (Primary Education) (Hons) from the School of Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MA (Distinction) in Sociology of Education from the Institute of Education, University College London. Antonios has worked in various teaching positions in primary schools in London and Sheffield and currently works as a tutor at the Masters Programme of the School of Education, University of Sheffield.
Antonios’s research explores the embodiment of restricted growth (RG) in neoliberalist ableist secondary education in the United Kingdom, during the post-Brexit and Austerity era, when the Western construction of the ‘autonomous’, ‘entrepreneurist’ and ‘able’ subject is sought and emphasized more than ever. Furthermore, this project investigates how students with RG ‘crip/queer’ normative schooling by embodying time and space differently.
