Peter is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures where he investigates sustainability and values in medical work. Peter’s academic work stands in an intersection of Disability Studies and Science and Technology Studies (STS). His doctoral thesis (Lancaster, 2019) explored the design and provision of assistive technologies for dis/abled people within the public healthcare systems and the ways design and use are configured in wider systems of supply and demand and the ordering of disabled and nondisabled bodies. At the core of Peter’s academic interest are the processes in which individual and collective agency and diversity are configured and valued in sociotechnical systems.
Besides his academic work, Peter has been working with and learned from different people with different disabilities that informs his research and practice.
